The Science Behind the Strength
Battle Coat Lime Putty Mortars are a non-hydraulic, pre-mixed lime-sand mortar made from high-calcium, carbonating lime putty blended with carefully graded, quarried sand. Each batch is aged for at least one month to ensure stability, strength, and ease of application. The result is a material that keeps indefinitely when properly sealed and protected from carbon dioxide exposure.
Packaged in convenient 5-gallon plastic pails, Battle Coat is ready for professional use right out of the bucket.
We take pride in crafting 100% natural lime plasters — completely free from latex, acrylics, PVAs, bonding agents, or synthetic additives. Though naturally simple, these plasters deliver remarkable strength, breathability, and longevity.
Designed to replicate historic lime-sand mortars, Battle Coat helps reduce moisture absorption while allowing for rapid drying, maintaining a strong bond and excellent tensile and compressive strength.
